Russia is uneasy as the conflict with Ukraine escalates due to drone strikes and hacking
In Russia, drone assaults are rampant as radio and television are hacked.
On Monday night and Tuesday morning, a flurry of drone
assaults targeted areas within Russia along the Ukrainian border and farther
into the nation. One of the drones crashed barely 100 kilometers (60 miles)
from Moscow, according to local Russian police.
Drone assaults were launched on areas of Russia that were farther inside and closer to the Ukrainian border. There were no injuries despite the attacks' minimal damage to vehicles and structures. Three drones attacked the Belgorod area of Russia, one of which broke through a window of an apartment building in the region's namesake city. Drone strikes also affected the farther south Krasnodar and Adygea areas, with a Krasnodar oil facility catching fire as a result. Authorities in Russia believe Ukraine is responsible for the drone assaults.
The claimed strikes have not been confirmed or addressed
by Ukrainian authorities. Russian radio and TV stations were also compromised,
and the airport in St. Petersburg was briefly shut down, which raised
suspicions that Kyiv may be to blame for the disturbance. The "detection,
interception, and identification" of hostile targets in Russian airspace
was practiced by the country's air defense forces. The statement from the
Russian military appeared to be intended to justify the temporary shutdown of
St. Petersburg's airspace. In the past 24 hours, Russian bombardment on the
southern Ukrainian city of Kherson and its neighboring towns has resulted in
at least two civilian deaths and 17 further injuries.
