In response to China's threat, the US highlights its important strategic cooperation with India.
US Claims India Is Important Ally Using PM Modi's "Not An Age Of War" Remark
"We have extensive, extensive, and profound ties to
India. The bilateral relationship and the global activities he participates in
outside of the G20 will have a lot on the agenda, "Ned Price, a
spokesperson for the State Department, said.
As Secretary of State Antony Blinken heads to New Delhi to
take part in the G20 foreign ministers' meeting and other significant
conferences, the US has stressed the significance of its relationship with
India, referring to it as a "global strategic partner." India is a
crucial ally for the US, according to State Department spokesman Ned Price,
both bilaterally and within the framework of the Quad, which also includes
Japan, Australia, and the US. To combat China's aggressive actions in the
Indo-Pacific, the Quad was set up.
Another crucial item on the itinerary for Blinken's visit
was emphasized by Price as the I2U2 cooperation, which brings together the US,
the UAE, and India. But, discussions with China and Russia are also anticipated
during Blinken's private meetings with Indian officials.
Price also cited Prime Minister Modi's recent declaration
that "this is not a period of war," highlighting the shared values
and interests between India and the US, including a desire for an open and free
Indo-Pacific. He also pointed out that the PRC has consistently and even
systemically opposed this vision, and that China-related concerns would be
discussed at the G20 and in bilateral talks.
