Rahul Gandhi criticizes the understanding of the China threat by the Indian Foreign Ministry
Even when he doesn't comprehend, Jaishankar can express himself: Gandhi's stance against China
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, criticizes Jaishankar's understanding of the threat from China.
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, expressed
reservations about India's policy towards China and questioned S Jaishankar's
comprehension of the danger posed by China. At a news appearance in London,
Gandhi claimed that Jaishankar could say whatever he wanted and was unaware of
the true threat posed by China.
Gandhi also discussed his encounter with Jaishankar, which
took place at a committee meeting. He said that Jaishankar had misunderstood
the true nature of China's threat and that his remarks on the subject were
unhelpful. Gandhi's remarks come at a time when hostilities between China and
India are still quite high following their fatal military conflict over the
disputed Himalayan border last year.
"It is clear that the prime minister does not
comprehend the threat when he merely claims that no one has invaded our area.
Because such a remark sends China the message that it can try again. And the PM
personally delivered that message to China "said Gandhi.
The Indian government's negotiating position, according to
Gandhi, was undermined because the Prime Minister denied that China had
appropriated any territory. He said that since the Chinese had seized control
of 2000 square kilometers of Indian land, India had already been invaded.
"According to your prime minister, no land has been
stolen. So, that is a component of it. The other thing I keep emphasizing is
that India must exercise extreme caution in regard to what the Chinese are
doing near the border. We must exercise extreme caution since the Chinese are
behaving hostilely and aggressively. Despite my repeated warnings, I don't
believe the administration has realized this. I agree that there is a risk
"Gandhi stated in response to a query.
Gandhi highlighted that the Congress party's position on
China was unambiguous and that they did not support any nation encroaching on
their land and using force against them. He continued by saying that the prime
minister's denial of the Chinese entering Indian land and killing their
soldiers was the actual issue.
Jaishankar, the foreign minister of India, recently
defended his country's position towards China and said that Prime Minister
Modi, not Rahul Gandhi, was the one who dispatched troops to the LAC. Despite
this, the head of the Indian Congress has kept criticizing how the Indian
government has handled the Chinese threat.
