District of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh - A two-day-old baby girl was discovered alive on Thursday in Khataua village, Bareilly district, after being abandoned in a pond. The miraculous child was found by a local who noticed her in neck-deep water, 15 feet from the shore and called the police. She finally avoided drowning because of the water hyacinth's cushioning effect on her head and ability to keep her afloat.

The child was taken by the police to a community health center in Nawabganj, where he was treated before being sent for a checkup at the district hospital. Fortunately, the infant was found to be unharmed and secure. The youngster was sent to the Child Welfare Committee, which subsequently moved her to a foster home in the city of Bareilly, according to police sources.

The occurrence has shocked and awed the entire hamlet. On his approach to his field, Vakeel Ahmad, the former village chief of Khataua, came upon the infant and promptly dialed the police. He was successful in saving the baby, and once word of the "miracle" spread, many residents flocked to the location to see it. On social media, a video of the girl being pulled from the hyacinth-covered pond went viral.

She, fortunately, got entangled in a water hyacinth, which prevented her from drowning, Additional SP (rural) Rajkumar Agarwal said in a statement to the media. The child welfare committee was given custody of the infant girl, who has been given the name "Ganga" by the authorities. Dinesh Chandra, the chairwoman of the CWC, reaffirmed that they would wait till the baby's parents arrived within 72 hours. In the event that nobody steps forward, they will file a complaint in accordance with protocol.

The event has raised a lot of questions. Why would someone deliberately desert a helpless child? And what would have happened to the infant if the local neighbor had not found her? It serves as a reminder of the severe conditions that many young moms encounter and the need of offering assistance to mothers who may be having difficulty.

This event brings to mind the recent example in which a day-old newborn boy was saved after being dropped down a dry well 20 feet deep in the Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The fact that these occurrences are happening more often in the area is worrying. To avoid future occurrences of this nature and to guarantee that infants are not abandoned, the authorities must take the appropriate action.

The life of this miracle infant serves as a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of resiliency. Notwithstanding the difficulties she had in her early days of life, she persevered against all odds. The neighborhood has come together to support her, and we wish her luck in finding a warm home soon.
